Harald Gunnar Paalgard was born
in 1950. He studied at the Dramatiska
Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. His work has resulted in several awards, among them, the 1985 Norwegian national
prize Amanda for best photography
with Orions Belt. Harald Gunnar Paalgard
has worked on several short films,
documentaries and commercials; his
filmography for 1980–2009 comprises
about 50 productions.
Dypets Ensomhet (Depth Solitude) won the prize for best photography at the Brussels International Festival of Fantasy, Thriller and Science Fiction Films in 1996. Among his numerous prizes and awards are also the
Aamot-statuetten Norway 2009, the
Kodak Vision Award, Gothenburg Film
Festival 2007, and the Golden Swan
Award for Best Cinematography,
Copenhagen 2003.
