Over-night stays in historical hotel rooms like in Wagner’s time.
With his first wife Minna as well as his second wife Cosima Wagner stayed at the Hotel Rigi Kulm. Until now the historical hotel offers opportunities to romantics to witness sunset and sunset over Lake Lucerne. It is like music from Tristan, when the fog lifts across the valley and the sun fights its way through. It is said that Wagner was inspired to write the shepherd’s song in “Tristan und Isolde” on top of the Rigi. What is certain is that he liked spending time around Lake Lucerne and showing the surroundings to his friends, wives, and lovers. Between Lucerne and the Bernese Oberland he hiked up to the Faulhorn on his own, visited Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and the Jungfrau region. It is true that whoever listens to Wagner will see the landscapes of the Alps with different eyes.
